Welcome to Prakteon.com, home of Georgios Zoumpoulidis on the web.
I am a distinguished full time freelance translator since 2003, working in the language pairs
and you can browse through my core specialisation areas on this website. My work experience includes web programming, project management and stock/options trading. I hold a LL.B and a MA in Translation, and I am a certified technical analyst (GSTA) and a certified derivatives advisor (Athens Derivatives Exchange).
For more than 12 years I have been engaged in challenging and game changing projects. From the first ever (and still one of the very few) fully localised in Greek game to the official game of the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, MMORGs and console games, to ethic codes, mutual fund prospectuses, court documents and website localisation, I have translated, edited, proofread, engaged in LQAs, cultural disaster check and sometimes even financial interpretation for select clients.
I am currently in the second year of my PhD in Translation Studies at Cardiff University, Wales, UK (estimated end: Dec 2017). I have taught the seminars (6 sessions) for module ML8101, Year 1, Introduction to Translation Theory (2015-6). As well as delivering these sessions again for 2016-7, I will also be teaching the seminars for ML2299, Year 2, Principles of Translation Theory (weekly sessions, 2 groups).
If it carries my signature, a translation usually is a work of art in itself.
